Extra info
Goose Valley first earned its reputation as an immaculately manicured and challenging 9-hole course. In 2002, nine more holes were added in conjunction with a new residential component. Gary Player, the designer (with Phil Jacobs) of the first nine holes, was asked to fulfill the role of marrying the two into the naturally undulating landscape near the splendid Indian Ocean. This has been achieved and while the original nine were renowned for the tight challenge and visual beauty, the new nine have brought a measure of variety.
Today the second nine at Goose Valley provides sweeping fairways around wonderful water hazards, large and undulating greens and a series of different moods. Tree-lined fairways are interspersed with an open and uncluttered landscape and the rise and fall of the natural terrain adds much to the variety and flow of classic and challenging holes.
