Boavista Golf opened on 1st January 2002, the impressive 18 Hole Championship golf course has been designed by Howard Swan MSc, past president of The European Institute of Golf Course Architects.His philosophy - to create a course as if it has always been there - has been sensitively applied at Boavista, preserving, integrating and harmonizing with the area's natural terrain.
Boavista has once again been chosen to host the inaugural round of the prestigious Sir Henry Cooper / Mike Reid Charity Golf Classic. The event proper will commence at Boavista on Monday 17th May and a full field of 100 golfers including 25 celebrities from the UK are expected to take part. So far the confirmed list of celebrities, apart from Sir Henry and Mike themselves, includes old favourites Stan Boardman, Michael Greco, Dave Jessup, Derek Martin, Robert Powell, Gareth Hunt and Ed Stewart plus first timers Nigel Mansell, Ray Clemence, Jasper Carrott, Jonathan Davies and Bruce Grobbelaar.
