Extra info
Abercrombie has a reputation of being a tight course and when the wind is up it can offer a real challenge. The 7th is the #1 handicap hole. The long par 5 plays 580 yards, slightly downhill from the tee. Treed to the right with a new water hazard on the left, there is out of bounds to the right within 200 yards of the newly constructed green. As part of a new Long Range Plan, the club has undergone renovations to a total of six holes, producing dramatic cosmetic and structural facelifts, while steering clear of interrupting play.
The Abercrombie Golf Clubhouse played host to many prestigious tournaments on both the provincial and national scenes. The 1989 Canadian Junior Girls Championship and the 1997 Canadian Seniors Championship were held at Abercrombie. The club also hosts several charity golf tournaments. Most notably, the Scott Weeks Celebrity Tournament, which attracts many professional sport celebrities who participate for a worthy cause.
