In the early 1960s a man named Wally Shamenski came to the conclusion his spacious back yard would be put to better use as a place to swing a club. Being a man somewhat handy with a bulldozer, he proceeded to rent one and began shaping what was to eventually become Ledgeview Golf and Country Club.

Mr. Shamenski no longer owns the property, but his enterprising spirit to make Ledgeview a first class facility remains. The course has made many additions and improvements to its layout through the years - most notably a complete overhaul of 13 of its 18 holes in the late 80s by renowned architect Les Furber.
