Lee-on-the-Solent is a parkland/heathland course bisected by two country roads. Not long by championship standards (5962 from the white tees, 5759 yellows and 5495 ladies) but difficult enough to provide a test for all levels with a Par of 69 and a Standard Scratch of 69. Contoured fairways may prove costly for the attacking line, well-placed hazards may trap the unwary while punishing rough may obscure the way to some of the best greens in Hampshire.
Accuracy is more important than distance at Lee with plenty of woodland and gorse waiting to collect wayward shots. Memorable holes include the 8th, a dogleg left with a tight drive, sloping fairway and an undulating green and the 13th that requires a shot to clear the River Alver and hold the sloping green well-protected by its five bunkers.
