From 1998-2003 Blackmoor Golf Club was been a venue for a Regional Qualifying round for the Open Championship. Every April the Club hosts one of the leading amateur competitions, the Selborne Salver, which has been running since the mid seventies. Past winners include Peter McEvoy, Gary Wolstenholme and Zane Scotland. Justin Rose has also competed and narrowly failed to win the year before he turned professional. Blackmoor has also featured in Golf Monthly's top 200 courses in the UK.
