Rangatira Golf Club is situated on State Highway One 12km north of Hunterville. The course is on three levels with outstanding views of the scenic Rangitikei River. The well groomed fairways and watered greens are surrounded by native birds and bush. There are no bunkers.

The course was designed by Leng-Ward and was opened in 1964. A highlight is the electrically powered cable car which takes you from the 18th green on the lowerst level back up to the club house. Rangatira was featured on the Sky TV Golf Show "Gem of a Country Course" in 1999.
