One of the most scenic courses I have ever played. It is also one of the most challenging.”- said Bob Scully from Scotland, as we finished our fi rst round at this exquisite golf village. Bob Scully was visiting South Africa to choose golf resorts, with hotels attached to them, to include in a European PGA magazine called the ‘Relais de Golf’ at the same time that I was visiting the course for this Guide. Other impressions we both agreed on were that the course is superbly maintained, there is lots of water to consider and the blend of nature’s natural beauty and the man-made villas dotted around the course only add charm to this special golfi ng venue. The designer of the course, Peter Matkovich, has managed to capture the wonderful views on offer, as well as create memorable holes. That he has used water features to test the golfer on many of the holes is a fact! Here, I urge you to plan your game carefully, for once you know the course you will truly enjoy the clever design that meanders through this beachside nature reserve. Apart from the water, there are many different features to savour on this undulating layout.
