Extra info
On the southern shores of the crescent shaped Bay of Hammamet, the Sousse district boast three prime golf facilities for a total of four championship courses, all designed by reputed Californian architect Ronald Fream. A few miles north of Sousse, Port El Kantaoui is an exclusive seaside resort and marina with a 36 hole golf facility. South of Sousse and halfway to Monastir, Palm Links has a links style seaside course in the resort of Skanes, while a bit further on at the outskirts of Monastir, Flamingo is a superb and contrasting layout set in the hills and with a reputed golf academy. These three clubs are no more than half an hour drive from each other and accommodation at any of these resorts is convenient enough to play them.
The balmy climate, splendid beaches, historical sites, international airport and first class accommodation make Sousse a prime golf destination. Sousse can also easily be combined with Hammamet, another prime golf destination, some forty miles north on Hammamet Bay and with another two clubs and three championship courses - all designed by Ronald Fream !
Built in 1979 on a 250 acre site designed by Ronald Fream on the side of a hill, the El Kantaoui Golf Course which had figured three times recently on the Seniors Tour, is a popular holiday course for the resort of Port El Kantaoui. You can play on two 18 hole courses with each offering different playing conditions: fairways running amongst olive plantations interspersed with large lakes, others hugging the beach.
