Extra info
The opening of The K Club, alongside Mount Juliet, set the trend for the development of a new generation of parkland golf resorts in Ireland, such as Adare Manor or Druids Glen to name but a few. One of the most ambitious projects ever carried out in Ireland, the Kildare Hotel & Country Club - or The K Club as it is also known - is set on a 550 acre estate amidst the glorious landscaped gardens of Straffan House, on the banks of the river Liffey some fifteen miles west of Dublin. This superlative resort boasts what is arguably the finest five star hotel in the country and two outstanding parkland courses designed by Arnold Palmer, the North and South course, the later inaugurated in July 2003. The K Club will play host to The Ryder Cup in 2006.
