The club was formed in 1907 and was originally a nine hole course, the ground being leased from a local estate owner.
The original Clubhouse was a railway carriage which was transported by horse and cart from the local station to the course. Some years later the club purchased the old clubhouse from Helensburgh golf club and this also was moved from Helensburgh to the Vale of Leven by horse and cart.
In the early 1920's the course was increased to 18 holes, however, during the war years the 6th, 7th, and 8th fairways were ploughed up to help the war effort and reinstated after the war ended.
In 1950 the members at the time saw fit to purchase the course which has proved to be a wonderful investment. Since then there has been many improvements to both course and clubhouse.
A watering system was installed on the course and the introduction of bunkers added to the upgrading on the course. In the late 60's the clubhouse was found to be in need of major repairs and it wa
