Extra info
Taymouth Castle Golf Course is privately owned, but is happy to accept visitors. It is a key constituent of the Estate, which is owned and operated by Taymouth Castle Hotel Ltd. The Estate was once the seat of the Campbell clan (Breadalbanes) and stretched from the east coast to the west. Today the grounds are of much more modest size, but still reflect the history and grandeur of the past. In the centre of the designed parkland landscape stands the impressive Taymouth Castle. The river Tay meanders through the woodlands and Loch Tay and Ben Lawers provide a magnificent backdrop
The Estate includes significant parts of Kenmore Village which itself is an important conservation area. The village was largely constructed in the 1700's as a model village and today remains little changed. The village survived past troubles untouched and is a particularly fine and unique example and includes the Kenmore Hotel (now privately run) which is Scotland's oldest inn.
