The Devonvale Golf and Wine Estate is set in a natural undulating valley, in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands. The original design, by Ken Elkin, who was commissioned by Simeon Blumberg who, over 40 years ago, foresaw the potential of developing real estate around a splendid golf course within easy reach of the centre of Cape Town.
Zoning restrictions prevented this vision from being completed and, for many years, despite the quality of the golf course layout, Devonvale remained very much the country cousin to most of the more established and refined courses of this area.
