Description: Acclaimed as much for his work helping people starting out in the culinary industry as for his extraordinary talent in the kitchen, Charlie Trotter is one of the restaurant industry's brightest stars. He's cited as the inspiration behind banning foie gras from Chicago restaurants, demonstrating that his philanthropic streak stretches beyond young chefs. Since opening in 1987, in the Lincoln Park West area of the chef's hometown, Charlie Trotter's has been pioneering. It was one of the first restaurants to offer only tasting menus and currently produces a daily selection of three: the Grand, Vegetable or Kitchen Table menu.
