Description: Neil Perry, the diamond geezer of Aussie cuisine, may be a butcher's son, but it's actually seafood he's best known for. Since Perry and partner Trish Richards opened Rockpool in Sydney in 1989, his sophisticated, often Asian-influenced, dishes have kept him ahead of the fierce Sydney competition. The pony-tailed one has also worked his magic for Australia as a whole, with his Qantas consultancy, his internationally acclaimed cookbooks and his promotion of Aussie tucker overseas. This year, he took the brand to Melbourne with the well-received opening of the Rockpool Bar and Grill.
