Description: Superstar chef Daniel Boulud describes himself as a 'French-American' chef, and that's about right. His pre-USA career saw the Lyonnais country boy working under such legends as Roger Vergé, Georges Blanc and Michel Guérard. After his arrival in the USA, he has followed the American Way, making his name at Le Cirque before becoming a multitasking businessman with fine-dining restaurants, including Daniel (1993), Café Boulud (New York, 1998 and Palm Beach 2003) and DB Bistro Moderne (2001) - not to mention being an author and launching kitchenware and gourmet products. His pride and joy, however, is the flagship Daniel, the plush, theatrical, modern French restaurant with its rigorously trained brigade and Venetian renaissance-style décor.
